Potato Buttons


  • 2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon ajwain
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup Roasted Semolina/rawa
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup boiled mashed potatoes
  • Cooked rawa
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon amchur powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/4 cup black sesame seeds
  • Oil (for deep frying)


  1. In a kadai bring the water to a boil add the ajwain and rawa and cook till the water has dried up, now remove from heat and cool it down.
  2. In a bowl take the rest of the ingredients besides the sesame seeds and mix well, roll the dough out on a greased board and cut out small circles.
  3. Sprinkle the buttons with sesame seeds and deep fry till golden brown.
  4. Serve hot with ketchup.
