Potato Chaat

Enjoy this chaat during summer season. Easy to make and tasty to eat

Aloo Chaat

Ingredients:

Boiling Potato:

  • Water 3 Cups
  • Potatoes cubes ½ kg
  • Salt ½ teaspoon

Imli Chutney:

  • Water ½ Cup
  • Tamarind pulp ½ Cup
  • Salt ¼ teaspoon or to taste
  • Red chili crushed ½ teaspoon 
  • Cinnamon stick 1
  • Ginger powder ½ teaspoon
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Corn flour 1 teaspoon
  • Water 3 tablespoon

Special Spice Mix:

  • Red chili roasted & crushed 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds roasted & crushed 1 teaspoon
  • Black salt ½ teaspoon or to taste

Mixing:

  • Salt if required
  • Red chili crushed ½ teaspoon 
  • Onion chopped 1 large
  • Green chilies chopped 2-3
  • Lemon juice 3 tablespoon

Assembling:

  • Yogurt whisked as required
  • Imli chutney
  • Special spice mix
  • Sev
  • Papri
  • Chaat masala
  • Green chili

Preparations:

For Boiling Potato: 

  1. In pot, add water, bring it to boil, add potatoes, salt and mix.
  2. Boil until tender, strain and set aside.

For Imli Chutney:

  1. In saucepan, add water, tamarind pulp and mix well.
  2. Add salt, red chili crushed, cinnamon stick, ginger powder and mix.
  3. Add sugar and mix well.
  4. Dissolve corn flour in water, mix well and add it in pot and mix continuously, cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove tamarind seeds and cinnamon stick and set aside.

For Special Spice MIx: 

  1. In bowl, add red chili crushed, cumin seeds, black salt and mix well.
  2. Special spice mix is ready for chaat.

Mixing: 

  1. In boiled potatoes, add salt, red chili crushed, onion, green chilies, and lemon juice.
  2. Mix well. 

Assembling:

  1. In serving bowl, add potatoes, yogurt, imli chutney, special spice mix, sev, papri, yogurt, chaat masala, green chili.
  2. Serve the tasty chaat.
