Stuffed Bitter Gourd

Bitter gourd is good for health. It can detox the body and help liver in its functioning

Stuffed Bitter Gourd

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 bitter gourd

For filling:

  • ½ cup besan
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • ½ teaspoon amchur powder
  • ¼ teaspoon hing
  • ½ cup peanut powder
  • 2 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • ¼ cup oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:

  1. Scrape the bitter gourd, slit partially and apply salt, keep this aside for 15 mins, then rinse in cold water to remove excess salt.
  2. In the meanwhile prepare the filling, toast the besan in a hot pan for 12 minutes, then add the rest of the ingredients & mix well.
  3. Stuff the bitter gourd with the above mixture & pan fry till charred on all sides.
  4. Serve hot with rice or roti.
